It has been a day full of celebration in the Jellyfish HQ with three nominations across the Creative Excellence and Cloud Management categories for the Broadcast Tech Awards 2020. To top those three nominations off, three members of our incredible team have been shortlisted in the Young Talent Awards.
Our fabulous crew have been shortlisted in the ‘Best VFX Project’ category for their incredible work on HBO’s ‘Watchmen’. The team delivered unforgettable CG Babies in pivotal scenes from the show as well as glass and transitional effects and full digital head replacements across five episodes.
The next two nominations recognise our superhero IT and Infrastructure team who have been shortlisted for the ‘Best Use of the Cloud for Creative Innovation’ and ‘Best Innovation in Lockdown’ categories. The nominations acknowledge our successful year in reaching new heights with our tech with the launch of global remote working campaign, which sees us access a community of the best global talent through the power of Microsoft Azure and Teradici Cloud Access Software. We are feeling hopeful after last year’s win for the ‘Excellence in Virtualisation’ category, which recognised our efforts in becoming the world’s largest virtual VFX and animation studio.
Not forgetting, our superstar talent who have been shortlisted for the Young Talent Awards. The amazing Izzy Genova, Compositing Supervisor has been nominated in the ‘Post-Production’ category for not only excelling in her role at Jellyfish as a Compositor and Supervisor, but also her ongoing commitment to diversity in the industry, sitting on the board of Q:VFX and Jellyfish Pictures diversity group, JellyMix.
Anna Glover has also been shortlisted in the ‘Post-Production’ category. Anna is what can only be described as the heart of Jellyfish Pictures. Her contribution to the studio does not start and end with her assigned work, that is only the beginning. Her infectious enthusiasm ripples through her own projects and beyond.
Last, but certainly not least, we have Jelly Award winner Hollie Bell, Production Supervisor. Hollie has been an integral part of Jellyfish Pictures episodic and feature animation production team since she joined in 2017 and for the past year has excelled in her position at Jellyfish Pictures. After an impressive stint as Production Co-ordinator for Jellyfish on DreamWorks Animation’s holiday special, How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming, Holly progressed to Junior Producer in July 2019.
Her broadened set of responsibilities lead to her appointment of Production Supervisor for the Compositing team on Jellyfish Pictures’ first animated feature film for a Major Hollywood studio.
A huge congratulations to all our team for their continued efforts in our global success, beautiful VFX projects, and our fabulous talent. We are immensely proud of every single Jellyfish member who have contributed to these nominations and wish good luck to all other nominees. Bring on the virtual awards ceremony taking place next month!
