The Media Production Show (MPS) is a two-day annual event, launched in 2016, and has since become a well-acknowledged industry event uniting key players, to debate the creative industries and network with each other. The MPS provides opportunities to network and meet with different exhibitors showcasing their newest products and services. As well as offering a programme of free conferences with some of the leading industry names participating in sharing their insight and knowledge.
Jellyfish Pictures contribution to this years MPS saw our Head of PR and Communications, Charlie Watson chairing the ‘What’s UK Screen Alliance Ever Done For You?’ panel. UK Screen Alliance is a trade-body that supports VFX, Animation, TV and Film Studios, Location Services and Post Production in the UK. Sitting on the panel to debate on advocacy for the screen industries, was Warner Bro De Lane Lea, Cara Sheppard, Milk Visual Effects, Will Cohen, and UK Screen Alliance, Neil Hatton.
Shortly after our first-panel contribution, our CTO, Jeremy Smith spoke on the ‘Cloud - Rewriting the Rulebook of Post’ with Foundry’s Simon Robinson, Virtual Post Production’s Michael Wrightson, and Sohonet’s Dennis Rose. This discussion delved into discussing the current scope of cloud technology and the future impact. Jeremy demonstrated the added benefit of utilising cloud technology by referencing our recent expansion to Sheffield.
"A key advantage of opening up our new office in Sheffield was being able to access the talent pool there. We were happily looking to cater to more regional bases, and cloud-based tech allowed that to be possible." ~ Jeremy Smith, Chief Technology Officer, Jellyfish Pictures
