Jellyfish had a busy and fun filled time whilst up in Sheffield this week at The Children's Media Conference (CMC). Animating three of the 12 children's animated series made in the UK in 2017/2018 and its own slate of children's original content, the Jellyfish development team headed up north to celebrate the world of children's content.
CEO Phil Dobree took to the stage on the Wednesday to speak on a panel entitled, 'Sustaining UK Animation' along with Gareth Ellis-Unwin from Creative Skillset, UCLAN's Sarah Ann Kennedy-Parr, Marcus Kenyon from Finger Industries and Jon Rennie from Bait Studio/Cloth Cat/Thud Media. The panel discussed potential threats and how the UK industry is arming itself to maintain its position as one of the leading producers of children's animated content.
Jellyfish also sponsored a session discussing how to encourage gender parity across the animation industry. 'Tips and Hits from Animated Women' celebrated the journey's women have taken to succeed in the animation business, sharing insights in to reaching gender equality.
CMC 2018 showed why being part of the children's media industry is so special and expertly demonstrated positivity for the future.
