The British Academy Children’s Awards have announced the 2019 nominations, and we’ve got to say we’re pretty excited about it.
It’s been a stellar year for children’s TV, with the ever-changing landscape and how children are consuming content keeping the industry fresh and on our toes. Whilst linear content still has its place, the Netflix and YouTube’s of the World are fast taking over young people’s attention. It’s no surprise then that 50% of the contenders in the channel category are online platforms or apps.
In the Pre-School – Animation category, Jellyfish Pictures’ favourite, Floogals,is among the favoured few, up against Channel 5 and Blue Zoo Production’s Digby Dragon, Studio AKA and CBeebies’ Hey Duggee and Alphablocks and CBeebies’ Numberblocks.
Floogals was the first longform episodic animated series to enter through Jellyfish Pictures’ doors, kicking off our dedicated division in 2014. Having worked on over 130 episodes, the Nevision team and the three inquisitive aliens, Fleeker, Flo and Boomer, have become family. We are so proud of the incredibly talented team at Jellyfish Pictures who have seen the show go from strength to strength, with each department progressing with each series. The show being recognised by BAFTA means the world to every artist and producer who has come in to contact and fallen in love with the project.
Best of luck and deserved congratulations to Nevision, who have guided this Floogally sized Fizzer to success.
